May 30 from 11am-6pm, a multicultural celebration will be held at Plaza Ventana al Mar on the waterfront near the giant flag pole on Blvd. Costero (Lázaro Cárdenas), Ensenada, Mexico. Enjoy music, dance, arts, ethnic foods and exhibits by nearly four dozen local community groups of various nationalities, historical and cultural societies, museums and the city’s founding families. Admission is free to this event, and it is a great way to experience local culture in Baja California and Ensenada.

On May 22 and 23, anglers compete for trophies and cash prizes while trying to match up with the largest yellowtail in the Sea of Cortés. This is an event that is suited to skilled sport fisherman and novices alike; bring your own boat or arrange a panga rental in town. Bahía de los Angeles is located on the Sea of Cortés, approximately 330 miles southeast of Ensenada.

On May 16 from Noon-5pm at Adobe Guadalupe Winery in Valle de Guadalupe join locals and tourists for The Fiesta of the Flowering Vineyards, also known as Fiesta del os Vinedos en Flor. This event, put on by the Baja California Winemakers Association, is an excellent opportunity to sample wines from many different wineries and enjoy regional foods and music in a family atmosphere. On May 1 and 2, in an event known as Cabalgata Vaquera El Alamar, participants take part in a 4-5 hour guided horseback riding adventure at Parque Nacional Constitución de 1857 in the Sierra de Juarez. This is always a fun family event, and allows visitors to the region to experience the local landscape and culture. Registration fee includes meals and overnight camping (bring your own tent and equipment) at Rancho El Alamar. Those attending can either obtain a horse rental available, and are encouraged to bring their own horse for the trip.
