The race begins April 23 in Newport, California and concludes on April 25 in Ensenada, Mexico. This year marks the 63rd time the boat race has been held, and it is considered to be the world’s largest international yacht race.
The yacht race begins on Friday in Newport Beach, California and concludes with trophy presentations on Sunday in Ensenada. The Ensenada Beach House is proud to be part of this event, and we look forward to enjoying the yacht race festivities with our guests.

On April 17, thousands of cyclists will flood the streets to participate in this beautiful 50-mile ride along the Baja California, Mexico coast. The fun bicycle ride starts at 10am in downtown Rosarito, follows the Free Road along the Pacific Coast, and inland through rural countryside, leading to the finish line in Ensenada. The event concludes with a huge fiesta from noon to sunset at Ensenada’s Plaza Ventana al Mar on the waterfront at the giant flagpole. Interested parties may register online.

Take advantage of the warm Baja waters and spend a day whalewatching for Gray Whales off the coast of Mexico. A relative of Humpback and Blue Whales, Gray Whales are the most common type of whale seen off the coast of the Baja Peninsula. The whales can be seen any time from late November to late March with the greatest number of sightings during the month of February.
There are two main areas around Ensenada, Mexico where whales can be seen.
Todos Santos Bay

Scammon’s Lagoon or Laguna Ojo de Liebre
