May 30 from 11am-6pm, a multicultural celebration will be held at Plaza Ventana al Mar on the waterfront near the giant flag pole on Blvd. Costero (Lázaro Cárdenas), Ensenada, Mexico. Enjoy music, dance, arts, ethnic foods and exhibits by nearly four dozen local community groups of various nationalities, historical and cultural societies, museums and the city’s founding families. On May 16 from Noon-5pm at Adobe Guadalupe Winery in Valle de Guadalupe join locals and tourists for The Fiesta of the Flowering Vineyards, also known as Fiesta del os Vinedos en Flor. On May 1 and 2, in an event known as Cabalgata Vaquera El Alamar, participants take part in a 4-5 hour guided horseback riding adventure at Parque Nacional Constitución de 1857 in the Sierra de Juarez. This is always a fun family event, and allows visitors to the region to experience the local landscape and culture. Registration fee includes meals and overnight camping (bring your own tent and equipment) at Rancho El Alamar. Those attending can either obtain a horse rental available, and are encouraged to bring their own horse for the trip.

On April 17, thousands of cyclists will flood the streets to participate in this beautiful 50-mile ride along the Baja California, Mexico coast. The fun bicycle ride starts at 10am in downtown Rosarito, follows the Free Road along the Pacific Coast, and inland through rural countryside, leading to the finish line in Ensenada. The event concludes with a huge fiesta from noon to sunset at Ensenada’s Plaza Ventana al Mar on the waterfront at the giant flagpole. Interested parties may register online.

Off road racing fans cross the coast into Baja California, Mexico every year at the end of March for the RECORD off-road racing series called the El Alamo 200 OffRoad Race. This is a circuit race featuring motorcycles, ATVs and four-wheel vehicles from both sides of the border competing in a difficult four-lap race. The circuit is 50 miles in duration and is located 50 miles southeast of Ensenada in the small town of El Alamo, Mexico.
