Whale Watching Season Begins

From December 27, 2008 thru the end of March 2009 take part in one of the many Gray Whale watching excursions leaving from Ensenada, Baja ports.  A relative of Humpback and Blue Whales, Gray Whales are the most common type of whale seen off the coast of the Baja Peninsula. They seek out the warm waters of Baja’s many lagoons for calving.

Tecate SCORES Baja 1000

Dia de los Muertos, Day of the Dead

Mexico’s most traditional religious holiday is celebrated on this day.  Families remember the deceased by building altars, bringing flowers, lighting candles and enjoying their favorite foods.  During this time of year a special sweet bread, pan de muertos, can be found at local bakeries, and candy skulls, coffins and skeletons are available at markets.  Celebrations and candlelight processions are held all over Mexico in cemeteries.

Real del Castillo Festival

From 10 am to 8 pm, celebrate the anniversary of a historic former gold mining town, Real del Castillo.  This was the capital of Baja California during the 1880s. Visitors are requested to dress in vintage attire to compete for prizes while enjoying this traditional country style fiesta. Historic exhibitions, entertainment, free barbacoa (BBQ). Bring your own potable water, sodas and snacks. Real del Castillo is located approximately 30 miles southeast of Ensenada. Rosarito Ensenada Fun Bicycle Ride

Starting at 10 am on April 19, 2008 you can ride the 50 mile stretch along the pacific coast and rural countryside between Rosarito, Mex and Ensenada, Mexico. The ride begins in Rosarito and ends in Ensenada with the Fiesta Line Fiesta featuring food, drink and celebrations from noon to sunset on the waterfront. Mexican Independence Day

Ensenada San Felipe 250 Off-Road Race
